Mindfulness with Make a Move

Mindfulness is a key aspect of our work for businesses and community groups

We deliver programmes of ‘mindfulness-plus’ – mindfulness sessions and a range of other, tailored, creative approaches to the wellbeing of individuals, businesses & community groups; one-off sessions or eight-week programmes tailored to your needs.

Mindfulness is a very simple form of meditation… mindfulness means awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations & surrounding environment. Mindfulness also involves compassionate acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them.

Benefits of Mindfulness

• Increase your resilience to stress • Boost your immune system • Reduce mood-swings • Reduce depression & anxiety • Increase concentration • Improve relationships

Mindfulness for wellbeing:   from the NHS

Duputy head teacher Jo Randall at Welton primary school said:

“My staff slept much better, we have used the exercises in the school day to de-stress. Staff couldn’t believe how much they could relax.”

Jo immediately booked more sessions.

We all need a moment to pause,
Find some calm,
Slow down.

Time to take care of ourselves,
Notice the world around us,
Visit our feelings, without judgement.

Have kindness and compassion for how we are feeling

Some people call this awareness ‘mindfulness’, and you can take steps to develop it in your own life. Good mental wellbeing means feeling good about life and yourself, and being able to get on with life in the way you want.
