Wonderful Weekend Wellness

Our first six-week Weekend Wellness course, at the end of 2016, was a great success

The Saturday morning sessions were run by expert facilitator and mindfulness practitioner Jules and yoga teacher Sandhya. They enabled participants to practise creative and mindful techniques to find calm and relaxation, and enjoy the transition from work week to weekend.

This wonderful feedback from one participant shows just how effective the sessions were.

“I am looking forward to tomorrow’s session, but sad its the last one. Thank you both for a very enlightening course, I have certainly been using new tools you have both given me in my daily life.
On awakening I open the curtains and look out onto a street light (its still dark outside), I focus on the pattern the light gives out around the lamp, each day its different due to mist, rain , fog  and different degrees of natural light but always mesmerizing, I practice some deep breathing and focus on the “light within”. This practice requires no preparation as the street light is always there.
Jules, at one session we talked about “what does my body need now”. Following a very stressful day ( I have both mother and step-mother with terminal cancer), and my stress bucket was filling up fast with lots of other stuff, I knew my body was tense and exhausted and my mind acting like lots of hyperactive monkeys .
I was driving home and was mentally aware I needed to look after myself and thought I am going to go home and lie on my  bed and do nothing. Realistically I thought ‘it ain’t gonna happen’. I then drove past a brightly-lit church with a sign outside saying “open for prayer” ( I am not a practicing Christian, more a fringe Christian).  I turned the car round and thought this is what  I need now (I would never have done this in the past). I needed somewhere to sit and be quiet and do nothing with no one making demands on me.
I sat in  the church for about 20 minutes and focused on all the  positive things in my life, and was grateful and thankful I am fortunate to have the knowledge and time to look after myself and just be still and quiet. I came away feeling relaxed  calm and more positive.
Thank you both from the bottom of my heart. Keep up the excellent teaching and sharing of wellbeing skills  and knowledge.”

There is a new Weekend Wellness course starting at the end of January. It’s proved so popular that it is already full!

Jules says “I am really looking forward to developing and facilitating our very popular Weekend Wellness Course in partnership with the Wellbeing College and Yoga Keynsham. This course is already fully booked and we will be taking bookings for our next course coming soon.”
